How this service works:

Think of this as your print shop—you prepare your files exactly how you want them, and we handle the physical printing with professional equipment and archival materials. You’re the artist/editor: Brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, cropping—all of this is in your hands. You know your work best.

We’re the print technicians: We print on museum-quality papers with archival inks using proper color management and quality control. This division of labor is what keeps the service efficient and affordable. The tradeoff? If you want to adjust something after seeing your prints, you’ll need to revise your files and reorder.

Our Advice: Test First, Print Confident

Here’s what experienced printmakers do: order one small test print on your chosen paper before going big. It’s how you learn how your files translate to physical prints, and it’s way less stressful than gambling on a 20×24 right away. We want you to love your prints—a small test is the best way to get there.

Questions about file prep? We’re happy to point you in the right direction (though we can’t edit your files in this service). Or check out Custom Printing if you’d like us to handle the technical stuff.

Custom Printmaking

White-glove printing for your most important projects.

Work directly with our master printmakers to create museum-quality prints. We handle the technical work—file preparation, color matching, test prints—so you can focus on your artistic vision. Perfect for: Exhibitions, portfolios, editions, and projects where color accuracy and technical excellence are essential.

We start by understanding your project and reviewing your files. You can provide: –

  • High-resolution digital files (TIFF, PSD, or RAW)
  • Film negatives or transparencies (we offer drum scanning)
  • Reference prints or guides showing your preferred look

Whether you’re working from a scan you made, your original camera files, or film that needs scanning, we’ll assess what’s needed to achieve your vision.

Our team handles as much of the technical work as you like:

  • Color correction and tonal adjustments
  • File cleanup (dust, spots, sensor marks)
  • Sharpening and optimization for your chosen paper
  • Resolution and color space management

You review and approve edits before we move to printing.

This is where the magic happens. We create test prints so you can see exactly how your work translates to paper.

  • 8 x 10″ full frame test prints
  • Magnification strip (check details/scale)

We’ll review these together (in person or by mail) and make any adjustments needed. This step ensures you love your final prints— no surprises.

Once you approve the test prints, we produce your final prints. Many artists print their full edition at this time to:

  • Lock in consistent color and quality
  • Take advantage of quantity discounts
  • Avoid variations from future paper/ink/printer updates
  • Personal consultation with master printmakers
  • Professional file editing and color correction
  • File cleanup and optimization
  • Color matching to your specifications
  • File archiving for future orders
  • Decades of printmaking expertise

Add-Ons

  • Test prints and review sessions
  • Drum Scanning (for film): Quoted per project
  • Explore different print surfaces like silks, kozo, or other non-traditional media
  • Rush service: Available upon request
  • Packing / Shipping

Custom Printing is quoted per project based on:

  • Scope of file preparation and consulting needed
  • Number of test prints
  • Final print sizes and quantities
  • Turnaround time
  • Any additional services (scanning, rush, packaging etc.)
